Learn a method of expanding your horse’s tolerance for scary moments that doesn’t just teach shut down or punish their natural flight response. Instead we’re building their trust in you, deepening your connection, and strengthening their ability to self regulate under pressure.
Playful Halloween Crafting
7 easy, DIY Halloween crafts you can make with things you probably already have, or can get from the dollar store (this part is totally optional, there is a craft-free alternative each day if you’re not into crafting). Then take what you made to the barn to desensitize your horse with it.
How it works
Open your email each morning
You’ll have an email waiting for you in your inbox each morning for 7 days. The email has video and written content to guide you through the activity of the day
Make the craft
Each craft uses items you probably already have or can easily get, and it comes together in mere minutes (or if you’re crafty, take a bit longer and make it your own).
Learn about spooks, and how to prevent them
Watch the video and read the email to learn about spookiness, and get step-by-step instructions to build your horse’s resilience. Then take your creation to the barn to move your horse through the daily exercise.
Mindful Exposure
Traditional sacking out and desensitizing methods teach horses to shut down and ignore stressors. We’re doing better.
Through mindful exposure, we are thoughtfully and safely stretching the boundaries of our horse’s comfort zone, and teaching them real skills to regulate and return to calm under pressure.
This builds your horse’s tolerance for the unexpected, and protects both of you from all of the spooky and unknown things life might throw at you.
